Go-For-It Start a Business Programme

go_for_it_logo_01.gifThe Start a Business Programme is funded by Invest NI and is available to anyone who wishes to start a business and participants will receive professional advice from the idea stage through to when they first start trading.

The Go-For-It Start a Business Programme is FREE to participants and you can join the programme at any time. It is also available to anyone starting a full-time or part-time business.

The Start a Business Programme offers the following:

A Business Advisory Service

You will be provided with the services of an expert business advisor who will work with you on a one-to-one confidential basis. This time will be spent in helping you prepare your business plan and include follow-up meetings with you once the business has been launched.

A Training Course

The course comprises of 8 modules designed to help you understand the practicalities of running a new business. In particular it will highlight:

  • Sales and marketing - how to find customers
  • Financial management - how to manage money in the business
  • Legal and statutory issues - what you need to do
  • General business practices - Day-to-day running of your business
  • ICT support - how to use technology to enhance business performance

Financial Planning

We will help you decide on the finances needed to successfully start a new business and explore potential sources of funding available. This will include access to finance, including grants and loans.

Programme Eligibility

The Start a Business Programme is open to anyone thinking of starting a new business provided:

  • You are prepared to take an active role in the business on a part-time or full-time basis
  • The proposed business is new and not illegal or immoral.
