Business Start Programme
Cookstown Enterprise Centre offers the following support to anyone considering self-employment:
A Business Advisory Service
You will be provided with the services of an expert business advisor who will work with you on a one-to-one confidential basis. This time will be spent in helping you prepare your business plan.
A Training Course
The course comprises of modules designed to help you understand the practicalities of running a new business. In particular it will highlight:
- Sales and marketing – how to find customers
- Financial management – how to manage money in the business
- Legal and statutory issues – what you need to do
- General business practices – Day-to-day running of your business
- ICT support – how to use technology to enhance business performance
Financial Planning
We will help you decide on the finances needed to successfully start a new business and explore potential sources of funding available. This will include access to finance, including grants and loans.

This support is available to anyone interested in becoming self-employed or looking to explore possible business opportunities
