Business Support Programme for the Community and Voluntary Sector

The Business Support Programme for the Community and Voluntary Sector provides tailored support to assist with the development of new and existing social economy businesses throughout the Cookstown District Council area.The community/voluntary organisations can avail of support on many aspects of their business including market research, business planning, marketing and promotion, recruitment and selection, quality systems, financial management, ICT support etc. in order to enhance the capabilities and competitiveness of theirsocial economy business.

The programme comprises of;

  • A Business Health Check carried out on each business to gather information which will be used to decide the particular needs of the business and form the basis of individual tailored mentoring.
  • Tailored mentoring support on areas such as market research, business planning, marketing and promotion, financial management, effective administration systems, quality systems, ICT etc. with the aim of increasing the skills base of the social economy businesses.
  • Access to seminar events to assist social economy businesses with fundraising and sustainability issues.
